Make sure you've purchased all of the required parts before beginning.

The Vehicle Interface can be powered from the vehicle 12V power lines as seen below - connect 12v to Vin and ground to...GND.

Efficiency Issues

We've discovered that the linear voltage regulators included in the chipKIT Max32 are very inefficient when providing with more than 9v of input voltage, and when a vehicle provides nearly 15v they can get so hot that it effects normal operation. If you intend to leave the chipKIT plugged into the vehicle for more than a few hours, we strongly recommend the alternative power supply.
